Summer Vacation in Lake Havasu City

In western Arizona sits beautiful Lake Havasu City, the city is surrounded by the gorgeous Lake Havasu, where there is always something to do to have fun in the sun. Visitors have the option to rent a luxurious furnished home, stay in one of the hotels on the lake or even camp out in a house boat. With a population of just around 55,000, the small water town offers endless opportunities for all who is looking to enjoy the sunny weather of Lake Havasu City.

The London Bridge

Lake Havasu City is mostly famous for being the home of the London Bridge. The city bought it from London in 1968, hoping it would attract tourists. Since its debut in 1971, it happens to be the 2nd largest attraction in Arizona, runner up to the Grand Canyon. The London Bridge sits above a narrow channel that crosses the lake. This channel is known for its party atmosphere, where boats line up to mingle with other boaters. It is especially popular during the months of Spring Break and during holiday weekends,

Hot Weather

One thing to remember is that Lake Havasu is known for getting hot. It isn’t just warm temperatures just about 100 degrees, they see temperatures well over 120 degrees each summer, so make sure you are staying in a place where the airconditioning works properly. But luckily the city has the sparkling lake to cool down in. The small town also has many great hiking trails, but always remember to stay hydrated and if you are going to go on hikes or for a run, always do it in the very early mornings or late evenings, as temperatures start climbing in the mid-morning hours. Despite the high temperatures, there are still plenty of events that come to Lake Havasu City. Throughout the year, there are boat regattas, the International World Jet Ski Final Races, fishing tournaments and other local events.

Trendy Local Spots

If you are looking for some cool places to escape the heat, Lake Havasu City has some amazing popular spots to visit. Main Street is a great street that offers boutique shops, restaurants and more. Plus, Main Street has a row of fun bars to check out during the nighttime hours. The London Bridge Resort, which is right next to the famous London Bridge, is also a terrific place to check out. They have a more upscale bar called Martini Bay, which overlooks the lake and London Bridge. The resort is also near the English Village, which is right under the London Bridge and has shops and paddle boat rentals. Kokomos is also right next to the resort and is a well-known nightclub that is only open during the boating months.

Last but not least, are all the amazing activities you can do at Lake Havasu!

From wakeboarding, water skiing, wake surfing, inner tubing, parasailing, boating or just hanging out and drinking, Havasu has something for everyone. Just don’t forget to pack all the essential gear before you get to the lake.
