An Honest Review of the Quip Toothbrush

If you’re like me, you’ve been hearing a lot about the Quip toothbrush. I was curious about what it actually is and how the whole idea works. Naturally, I decided to give it a try. Now, I’d like to share my thoughts with you so that you can make an informed decision on whether or not to purchase it.

What is the Quip Toothbrush?

Let’s start with the basics. Obviously, it’s a toothbrush. What’s great about Quip is that the bristles are delivered on a regular basis. This means that you keep the actual toothbrush and just replace the bristles every 3 months when they are delivered. Also, the toothbrush is electric and vibrates in specific patterns to help you to get the best brush!

Quip has designed the toothbrush to be sleek, convenient, and better at brushing. They also sell toothpaste.

What Comes with the Quip Electric Brush Set?

Quip’s Electric Brush Set is their toothbrush set. It includes everything you need to get started, including:

  • Brush handle
  • Dual-use wall mount/travel cover
  • Optional toothpaste

They have several other options, but that is the most popular one and also the one I chose.

How Much Does Quip Cost?

With the brush set, which is essentially a starter kit, you have a choice to make. These are your options for the toothbrush handle:

Plastic: $25

Metal: $40

The toothbrush heads are sent to your door every 3 months like clockwork. They cost $5 per refill. If you’re just getting started with Quip, you can find a Quip coupon for a free 30 day trial.

Quip makes toothpaste, travel accessories, and other toothbrushes too. All of these are available on their website for prices similar to those listed above.

What Do I Think of Quip?

The Design

At first glance, the Quip toothbrush is absolutely gorgeous. It has a minimal design without being boring. I love this! The holder design makes it especially convenient for travel, which I appreciate.

The Price

I think that—for what this toothbrush is—it’s pretty affordable. If you’re jumping from a manual toothbrush to the Quip, you might have a hard time with the price point. There’s a big difference between a generic 4-pack of toothbrushes for $8 vs. a $25-$40 one that you have to buy replacement heads for.

If you compare it to another electric toothbrush, the Quip is much more affordable.

The Functionality

The Quip works fairly well, in my opinion. The vibrating patterns ensure a pretty clean feeling. I do have to say that it doesn’t work nearly as well as a regular electric toothbrush does. Of course, the Quip is much less expensive, so you can expect it to perform a little less efficiently.

The Service

I like the idea of this service and not having to go out to get toothbrushes every couple of months. I think that—to save on shipping and overall costs—Quip could just send you 4 heads at the beginning of the year.

Other Reviewers

I looked into what other people had to say about the toothbrush before purchasing one for myself. One of the most common issues I saw was difficulties with customer service. I can’t comment on this, because I personally did not need to reach out to them. This is something to keep in mind though.

Overall, I am pretty impressed with the Quip toothbrush. Here’s why:

  • I can’t get over the minimal design.
  • The price is perfect for what it is.
  • The service simplifies my life.
