The X-Files first aired in 1993 and had quite the run. They ended the show with season 9 in 2002, but the show is returning to Fox on January 24th, 2016. Mulder and Scully fans finally have the chance to reconnect with their favorite characters.

Season 10 of the hit show will return 14 years after season 9 and David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will return to the series, which is one of the longest-running science fiction series in history.

Guest stars Joel McHale, Annet Mahendru, Rhys Darby, Annabeth Gish and Kumail Nanjiani will join the FBI special agents for season 10. Chris Carter wrote three of the episodes and the rest of the 10th season episodes were directed and written by X-Files veterans Glen Morgan, James Wong and Darin Morgan.

Mulder and Scully will of course return to investigate unexplainable cases that they refer to as X-Files. The series is based on the idea that the government thinks all of the outrageous reports are not true, but Mulder plays a conspiracy theorist that tries to prove the truth is out there with the help of realist Scully.

This is one show that I think will be able to be awesome again, even after such a long break. The X-Files has always been a good show and even the movie made in 1998 wasn’t that bad. Plus, you can never go wrong with David Duchovny.
