Suddenly, the track breaks off and riders are flipped down a 34-story vertical drop. It is the only tilting roller coaster and the first ride in the world to have a 90-degree drop. Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey is home to the tallest roller coaster in the world, the Kingda Ka. It is 456 feet high and travels as fast as 128 miles per hour. The ride is a launched roller coaster that has a top speed of 150 miles per hour. The Formula Rossa reaches its top speed in just 5 seconds thanks to a hydraulic launch system. The legendary racetrack, Autodromo Nazionale Monza, inspired the shape of the ride.

The Wicked Twister looks as scary as the ride is. The ride is at Cedar Point in Ohio and is the world’s tallest and fastest inverted roller coaster. The world’s largest suspended-impulse coaster looks like something out of a nightmare. Riders travel up 206 feet at a maximum speed of 72 miles per hour.
