Air France Fails with Star Wars Fans

I recently read a story about Air France offering passengers a chance to see the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens a couple days before its official release date. I thought it was pretty cool, but something just didn’t seem right. Then I just found out that Air France didn’t even let anyone know at Disney or Lucasfilm of their plan.

The airline announced that passengers flying one of four flights on December 15th from select cities in the United States to Paris would receive a ticket to see a special screening of the new Star Wars film on December 16th. Remember, the movie is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18th.

Of course Air France wanted to try to bank off of the franchise, I mean it does happen to have one of the biggest fan followings ever. But not letting Disney or Lucasfilm in on their promotion was a big no no.

I am not sure what is going to happen with this, but just a week ago, the logo for the promotion was no longer on the airline’s website and all of their social media posts regarding the Star Wars promotion has since been deleted.

Did you try to score this awesome promotion deal? If so, what happened? I would love to hear from people who have dealt with Air France and this major Star Wars failure.
