How many famous people do you know who live with hearing loss?

With the advancement in hearing loss technologies, that answer just might surprise you. Many hearing loss devices on the market today are virtually undetectable, allowing people to live their lives without hindrance. Better yet, the prices for digital hearing aids are becoming more affordable all the time.

Here’s a short list of some people that don’t let their disability get in their way.

Derrick Coleman

The most recent recognizable face associated with hearing impairment is the explosive Super Bowl winning Derrick Coleman, a deaf offensive player. Coleman has inspired thousands of NFL fans, regardless of their team allegiance.

Bill Clinton

The former commander in chief, Bill Clinton used to preside over the most powerful country in the world. You’d practically never guess that this accomplished and charismatic politician suffers from high frequency hearing loss. Clinton was actually fitted for hearing aids during his stay in the oval office.

Pete Townsend

It’s no wonder Townsend experienced hearing loss over the years of rocking with The Who, serving as their primary guitarist since the early days of rock. Despite his loss of hearing, Townsend has more than managed to keep shredding.

Halle Berry

In a more tragic loss of hearing, Berry suffered 80% hearing loss in one ear due to what she cites as domestic abuse as a child. Her rough childhood couldn’t prevent the talented actress from becoming the first African American woman to win Best Actress.

Rob Lowe
