The Very Best of Mr. Show.

It’s been almost two decades since Bob Odenkirk and David Cross aired the first episode of the groundbreaking sketch comedy series Mr. Show. The HBO series helped launch the careers of a who’s who of comedy including Tom Kenny (The voice of Spongebob), Jilly Talley, Jay Johnston, Scott Adsit, Scott Aukerman, Jack Black, Brian Posehn, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Paul F Tompkins, Sarah Silverman, and Dino Stamatopoulos just to name a few. The show was years ahead of its time and didn’t rely on pop culture references like its contemporary The Ben Stiller Show. Here are some of the best sketches Bob & David made during their four season run.

The Audition

Written by Dino Stamatopoulos, better known as Starburns from Community, The Audition is one of the best meta-sketches I’ve seen and I love how just when you think it’s going to end they just push it even further.

Cock-Ring Warehouse

Short and sweet. “Any cock’ll do!”

Globochem

I don’t how this idea was even conceived.  This sketch seems like 4 sketches that Bob and David wanted to do pressed in to one.

The Fairsly Difference

A Mr. Show classic. You really feel bad for David Cross’ character by the end of it.

Lie Detector Test

“I mean it’s great… it’s crack.”

The Story of Everest

Whoever says that physical comedy doesn’t work anymore has never seen this sketch.

America Blows up the Moon

Bob Odenkirk as a Toby Keith parody is worth watching the whole sketch.
